Great News! and a Bolero

Yesterday I made my debut as a member of the most bass-ass wedding blog! Broke-Ass Bride =)  My Friend Dana ask me to join her blog after the wedding, and I could not be more happy about it!  I’ll be blogging once a week showing DIY Projects for brides on a budget – I love it!

So if you want to learn how to make this up-cycle bolero (For a wedding or any other occasion) just go HERE

The next project

When my mom came for the wedding she brought a bunch of my old stuff, while searching and organizing I found one of my very, very old teddy bear patterns (When I was 14 I used to make stuffed animals and sell them for Christmas to have money to buy presents for my family).

Anyway, since I really wanted to make something special for some secret lovely kids, I thought this would be perfect, it’s not going to be this teddy bear, because I made this one just to make sure I had all the pieces and since I don’t like some parts I’m altering the pattern and the size.

My dear Poodle, Curly, had no idea the trial Green bear (This was the only fabric I had for trials) was going to be for him, so when I sat the bear next to him, he didn’t want to touch him.

curly1 Look at that “Mommy I don’t want him” face!

But after a few minutes they became best pals!

This trial helped me figure out a lot of things and plus Curly has a new friend now =)  and I’m pretty sure I will always find him (He´s just SO green and polka dotted!)

Next week I will share the process, pattern and the little twist I made to this. Hopefully the beautiful girl and little baby I’m making this for, will like them too!

We have being blogged!

So we were still in our honeymoon when I checked my email and saw the link to the post from the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Next Exit Photography! They posted images of our wedding on their blog and I could not wait to show them to all of our friends and family, so I send and email really fast with the link and stared at this for as long as I could (Ok maybe just a few minutes, after all we were on our honeymoon!)

So finally today I get to share them with all of you! YAY

Feels so good to be back! I wish honeymoons lasted at least 2 months (Who doesn’t right?)

And get ready because there’s a very cool surprise for this week!

Joyful Business Cards!

A few weeks a go I won 250 business cards from Uprinting, but I had no idea how to use them on our wedding. Hubby said that I should use them for my Etsy Shop instead, I thought it was a wonderful idea! so with a big smile on my face I started thinking on what to do, because I didn’t want to use them just for that, so I design the front for Etsy and the back for this little blog!

At first I thought about doing something really simple and clean, but then I thought “What the heck!! this is the chance I have to make whatever I want!!” So I added some of our wedding invitation‘s lace graphic and play until I came up with this:

[ Front and Back together ]
[ Front ]
[ Back ]
[ HowJoyful close up! ]

I am really happy with them and of course the quality of Uprinting! I can’t wait to hand them out :)
Would you like one?
