HowJoyful Bear!
Posted under Crafting . Sewing | 22 Comments
A couple of weeks a go I shared my HowJoyful Bear: pattern and tutorial with all of you, and I also upload the project to Instructables, I was so happy when they featured my bear after only 2 hours of posting! =] after that it has been shared on a lot of craft blogs, so thank you all for that!
Since I already shipped the bears I made to the their final owners (my awesome wedding photographer’s son and daughter, Clara and Spencer) I thought I should share the pictures of both Teddy Bears I made. I was really happy I got to snap some pictures before they were in a box to LA, so here they are:

The pink bear is for Clara [obviously] and that one is a backpack, the brown is for Spencer and it is also a pajama holder

How do you like my new little labels!!!?? =) I am so happy I got to label them!

Curly got all jealous because I was taking pictures of only both of the Teddy Bears so I had to take some of him =)

So that was it! I hope Clara and Spencer like their Pajama bad and backpack HowJoyful Bears =) Remember you can make your own by following my tutorial and downloading the pattern!

How do you do the Pajama Bear? I love your pattern!!! I just made a Bear Backpack for a Friend!
Hi Riley! To make it I made 2 back pieces, the bottom one longer than the other so I could have room to attach the buttons.
I would love to see pictures if you have of the one you made!
How or where did you get the little labels? I have a set of twins and it would be great if I could get labels for their clothes and other stuff.
I email you the link of where I order them =]
Bonjour Joy,
J’aimerai confectionner ce petit ours, comment confectionner la version “sac à dos”, et la version “range pyjama”
Je vous remercie à l’avance.
Aussi je n’arrive pas à imprimer en version <pdf" Pouvez- vous m'aider.
Bien cordialement
Edith
Thank you for share the pattern with us. God bless your talent !
You are so nice Claudia =]
I absolutley love this pattern I have been using it since a week after you posted it and have made 40 plus bears for friends, if a could do it at seventeen years old with no sewing experience and I’m a guy anyone can do it. Good job made many people happy thanks to you
Hi Daniel!
I am so happy you are making all of those bears =] and Thank you for your comment you totally made my day!
Hi
How do you make the pyjama bear with a zip on the back? I am going to try to make that one.
Thanks
Hi Marg, I would recommend you to make one just like it is to get you familiar with the patter first. I closed on the inside the arms and legs putting fabric cups and then attached a zipper to the back and just like you would make a handbag made a liner for the inside of the bear. The process is a lot more complicated than just doing the normal teddy bear, just a heads up!
Have a lovely day!
The teddy bear is very beautiful! Thank you for your tutorial
I send you the image of my teddy bear. It was not difficult, but I have used the foam rubber as stuff material and the teddy bear not is soft
I am so sorry your bear is not soft, but that is what foam feels like, I would recommend you to use a softer material for stuffing.
Your bear look lovely tho!

Hello! I just wanted to tell you your bears are so cute! I especially like the cream and pink bear. Thank you for the free pattern. I will be trying this out for my daughter. Can’t wait to get started. Thanks again!
Can anyone tell me how to do the backpack bear please?
Many Thanks
Vicky
You can read my answer to Marg =]
i’m a young teenaged guy and i’m going to attempt to make this for a girl i like…
they look phenomenal!
i hope i can make it half as well as the pictures depict.
out of curiosity, though- how did you make the zipper?
I wanna make like at least 30” teddy bear for v-day. thinking about buying like 3 yrd of farbic.. do you think it would be enough?
To be honest I am not sure, but 3 yards sound like a lot so if you have a lot of leftovers you can use them for something else =]
Hello there, I have decided to close the comments on this post. I have added extra instruction and updated the tutorial & pattern post on Feb 20th 2012. So hopefully now it will be easier for all of you to follow. I have no extra instructions or images but what I am sharing there and I am unable to give personalized help with this project, as I stated on the tutorial this is not an easy or beginner project, so start with something smaller and easier, then once you have more experience upgrade to this teddy bear, Thank you for understanding! =]
