Paper recommendations
Tracing Paper Pad
If you plan to print worksheets in regular print paper, this pad will save the life of your brush pens. This is smooth and thin paper that you can put on top of your worksheets and trace on top for practice without needing a light-box.
Print at home Paper
This is my absolute favorite paper for brush pens and markers, so I recommend it if you are printing coloring pages or lettering, calligraphy or writing drills. It is super smooth, while still budget friendly, your brush pens and markers will not get damaged like they do with regular copy paper.
Coloring pencil recommendations
Prismacolor pencil pack – 72 colors
These are my favorite color pencils, they offer great blend-ability, and they are probably mid-range pricing. This pack offers a great variety of colors to get you started.
Amazon color pencil set – 72 colors
This Amazon set has great reviews and offers artist-quality soft lead for rich pigment and smooth application, it's a great alternative for beginners.
Crayola color pencils – 100 colors
While Crayola products are designed for kids, this pack of pencils offers great entry-level quality for adult coloring and is one of the most budget-friendly ways to start coloring without breaking the bank!
Arteza gel pens – 60 colors
Another great way to color pages is by using gel pens, and this Arteza pack offers a wide variety of colors in a 0.8 – 1.0mm ballpoint thickness, ideal for filling in coloring books or for adding details.

Hola! My name is Joy Kelley, I was born in Chile, but I currently reside in the Mountains of Southern California.
I have been a full-time lettering artist since 2013, working and as a freelancer with small and big clients doing branding, editorial, and licensing projects. While also developing lines of products in my Design Studio.
I’ve been teaching lettering, calligraphy, and DIY project via in-person workshops as well as online for 4 years now.
Out of everything I do, teaching lettering, calligraphy, and sharing my love for all things creative is what brings me the most joy and fulfillment.
